A non-profit activity of Ravenna United Methodist Church.

Ravenna Community Ministries was created to assist in opening our existing facilities for the creation of a coffee house modeled on the experience of Seattle FareStart. The goal of this new coffee house is to provide barista training for diversely challenged individuals.

We currently anticipate our principal pool of trainees to be street youth and young adults who are seeking to acquire new job skills.

Helping Others to Help Themselves

One of the primary challenges faced by youth and young adults who find themselves living on the streets is a lack of job skills.  Barista training provides not only a structured environment for learning but also marketable skills that can provide a stable income and hope for a better future.
